For the 2026/27 winter season, EVOC continues this approach systematically, expanding its established snow portfolio of touring backpacks, ski bags, and protectors with two new products for use in snow and alpine terrain. LINE 22 E2: Electronic airbag for alpine tours and uncomplicated travel.
Especially during demanding descents and tours away from groomed slopes, good preparation and reliable equipment are essential. In an emergency, the gear must function without any compromise. With the LINE 22 E2, EVOC brings an avalanche backpack to the market designed to create precisely this trust. It combines well-thought-out snow backpack features with the new electronic ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG SYSTEM. The E2 system is 40 percent more compact and 140 grams lighter than its predecessor E1 while offering even more protection. The airbag now holds a volume of 162 liters. To ensure a secure fit at the crucial moment, it is connected to the backpack via five fixed anchor points. This exceeds the requirements of the EN 16716 standard.
A special feature of the system is the supercapacitor technology: the electrical energy storage devices work without chemical reactions and enable consistent performance at temperatures ranging from -30°C to +50°C. The charge status of the supercapacitors and the AA batteries can be checked via both the integrated LCD display and the LEDs visible on the outside of the backpack.
Charging takes just 20 minutes via USB-C or, alternatively, 40 minutes using two AA batteries when no power outlet is available in the backcountry. To inflate the airbag, the E2 system uses a radial compressor comparable to turbochargers in the automotive industry. It ensures a fast airflow and high pressure so that the airbag inflates completely within five seconds. During the first three minutes, the internal pressure remains constant. Only after that does an integrated pressure relief valve open to reduce the pressure in order to protect the material and seams. This ensures a long service life, even with repeated inflations.
This is where EVOC's expertise in the travel sector comes into play: the ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG works with passive electronic elements that are not subject to transport, shipping, or storage restrictions. Since the system requires neither a gas cartridge nor a lithium-ion battery, the LINE 22 E2 can easily be taken on air travel – for anyone who regularly travels between different destinations in winter.
All electronic components are fully developed and tested in Switzerland. The system is certified according to the EN 16716 standard and designed for up to 100 deployments.
TORSO PROTECTOR BACK: EVOC mountain bike technology for the snow.
An innovation that has already proven itself in the mountain bike protection sector will also be used in snow sports for the 2026/27 winter season: the temperature-insensitive EVOC LITESHIELD FLEX technology. With its ergodynamic 3D protection structure, it forms the basis of the new TORSO PROTECTOR BACK and combines maximum impact protection with flexibility and freedom of movement.
The protector achieves level 2 protection under all test conditions from -20°C to 40°C, ensuring optimal protection even on very cold days. Individually adjustable shoulder, chest, and hip straps allow for precise adaptation to the body. The hip strap is made of AIROFLEX, a very strong fabric that is simultaneously flexible and breathable, ensuring a secure hold and good ventilation so the protector can be worn comfortably close to the body even on long days in the snow. The TORSO PROTECTOR BACK is available in two sizes (S/M and L/XL).
With the new LINE 22 E2 and the TORSO PROTECTOR BACK, a day in the mountains can be experienced even more safely. This gives the freedom and confidence to explore nature, snow, and the backcountry even more intensively.
